Ordinarily, I wouldn't have inflicted the preceding on the world, but I had just had my piano tuned and I was seized with a surfeit of enthusiasm. I don't think I'll bother recording any more Waits songs until I have a handle on the vocals. That's how I came to know these songs, by his basso rasp and, while I haven't a hope of creating the same timbre, I realize that these songs are not meant for purely piano arrangement.
